What a lovely, organized pantry you have there. I've heard so many great things about cast iron, but was also turned off by its weight. I feel like now I MUST get one! My grandmother used to make her cornbread with one. So good!

Rub as much of the rust as you can with coarse salt and a kitchen towel, then scrub with really hot water and a scrubby (no soap). Dry it thoroughly, heat it up gently, and add a teaspoon or so of veg oil, and rub it in with a paper towel. You may have to repeat the process, but if you do this enough the rust will go away and you'll have a gorgeous nonstick pan.

Enjoyed your video, I just now found it. I recently upgraded my old electric coil stove to an induction stove. I can use my cast iron pans on it safely by putting down a piece of paper towel on top of the glass and under the pan. Because the magnetism extends 1/2" above the glass, the pan still heats up nicely, and it makes it easy to safely move the pan around, which we sometimes just have to do when we cook. I re-discovered an old Le Crueset cast iron pan with a wooden handle that doesn't seem to be coated on the inside, just cast iron. There seems to be a bit of rust... any idea how to revitalize the inside of the pan?

I love using cast iron. Took a while to get used to, but I can't go back. First saw you on Iron Chef. Keep up the good work.

Glad you have found the joy of cast iron cooking: My son and I not only enjoy cooking on cast iron but take it back over 100 years as we cook outdoors from the chuck wagon. It's not only the best cookware, but will outlast anything on the market besides providing the best flavor to cooking. We hope to see you using more cast iron for every meal.

I have been exploring on the internet looking to get ideas on how to get our web site coded, your overall style together with theme are excellent. Did you code it yourself or did you get a coder to get it done for you?
