The All-New Wall of Spices!

July 28th, 2008 Posted in Admin

Some exciting breakaway news: we moved! To Marin county (just north of SF), into an older house with lots of sweet Japanese-ish touches. It needs lots of love and attention, and the kitchen needs some serious rethinking, but I’m ecstatic to be here under these hallucinagenically blue hot skies. I look forward to sharing all the new concoctions that come out of the new space. And, for once, one goal realized: I can see all my spices!

    That’s great! :)
I wonder what the previous owner used these shelves for… or is this a part of the kitchen where you have already made some changes?

I also just realized that your spices can’t even fit in one picture! :D

    wow. be-doggone-utiful!!!

I kind of have a spice wall…. did you know that a homemade wooden cassette rack that holds 54 cassettes turned on it side makes a fabulous three shelf spice rack???

hey, eric… I am coming to the states on the 31st…. is there anything from Japan that you really really need that I could carry along and mail to you????? AND did you know that I am having a kimono giveaway on my blog??? Do you know any crafters that might be interested????

let me know SOON if you need anything from a regular grocery store ….that’s all that is handy…..

Eric, Wonderful news! Isn’t sunshine nice? I wanna see a BIGGER photo of your marvelous spices. More kitchen design stories! Will there be BBQs and smokers in the future now that you’re in Marin?

Thank you everyone! Lisa, I DO feel like a traitor, it’s weird! But I’m quickly getting over it — being surrounded by enless trees and green and HOT blue skies and hawks circling above helps . . . AND: contemplating all the citrus trees we’ll plant (yuzu, sudachi, kabocha, meyers, kaffir lime, maybe sour orange). Everyone here has a standing invite to visit!

This would make me have to be neat. I think it looks fantastic with all the spices and pantry items showing. Great job!
